STEM which stands for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, has become remarkable headline in todays’ world. It is based on the idea that integration, accentuation, and development of knowledge base in STEM areas are necessary to support innovation. In the 21st century, innovation that drives productivity and creativity benefits for humanity in a rapidly changing world.
It is generally believed that mathematics is the heart of scientific and technological innovation. Mathematics pervades every part of our dynamic lives. To succeed in this new information-based and highly technological society, developing mathematics proficiency is inevitable consequence. Hence, the role of mathematics in STEM development is essential.
Based on the above description, University of Muhammadiyah Prof. DR. HAMKA (UHAMKA) in collaboration with Indonesian Mathematical Society (Indo-MS) would organize the first International Conference of Education on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (ICE-STEM). The conference will be held on October 17th – 19th, 2017 in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The ICE-STEM 2017 topics mainly focus on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and STEM education particularly that related to innovation, empowering natural and human resources. We welcome papers and presentations on empirical and applied on related topics.
The target audience for the conference are lecturers, scholars, students, practitioners and researchers in the field of development of education on science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Thus, the aims of this conference are to provide a particular outlet for scholar, such as current issues and significant debate on human and natural resources and to enhance lecturers, scholars, students, practitioners, researchers, and policy makers from International communities on mentioned topics.
